Two weeks ago I visited the Tropen Museum to see the exhibitions: Body Art and Secret Love.
Body Art is an exhibition about body ornamentation in the broades sense of the word: from makeup and tattoos, to implants underneath the skin and surgical alterations. Across time and cultures. The question that is central in this exhibition is: Why do people adjust their bodies?
When I first walked into the exhibition I noticed it was a bit smaller then I had imagined. At first I was a bit dissapointed, but when I walked through it I didn't even mind.
Sometimes during this exhibition, I was a bit spooked and horrified. But there also were some things I really liked. So here are some photo's of the exhibition.
Secret Love is an contemporary exhibition about the taboo in China around lesbians, homosexuals , bisexuals and transgenders. Despite the taboo, China is making some positive changes regarding sexual diversity.
My pictures can describe the exhibition better then my words. So here it goes. And, btw, I would love to hear your opinion about sexual diversity. Cause I think everybody should be able to love someone no matter what!!
This picture was also the end of the exhibition. |
I hope you liked it. And of course let me know what your thoughts where on this post. Hope to hear from you guys :)
